Ahluwalia Explored the Duality of Love for SS26
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Sun, 21 Sep 2025 HypebaeFor the Spring/Summer 2026 season at London Fashion Week, Ahluwalia presented a collection titled "Affinity," exploring the "multifaceted nature of love." Showcased amidst a live violin performance, the romantic collection explored themes of renewal, unity and duality.
Taking inspiration from Bollywood films, Shakespearean tales and Motown, the collection was also the result of references like Indian paintings and Nigerian deities like Oshun, the goddess of love and fertility. Showcased through draped fabrics, twisted details and knots, the collection themes were also depicted through material manipulation like fringing and tangling threads.
In keeping with Ahluwalia's existing denim offering, SS26 debuted new recycled denim sets, complete with the brand's signature laser-printed graphics. Elsewhere, the collection showcased new jacquard knits, taking inspiration from Nigerian Ichafu head wraps. Ahluwalia's cultural heritage continues to inform the collection through pattern-based references to the Taj Mahal, pearl and marigold embellishments and jewel tones.
Finally, the SS26 collection was completed by a collaboration with PUMA, reworking the brand's Suede silhouette in a new black and silver colorway, crafted with mesh uppers and a gradient effect midsole, set to launch later this month.
