Ashley Williams SS26 Was For the Girls
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Sun, 21 Sep 2025 HypebaeAshley Williams made a welcome return to the London Fashion Week schedule this season, presenting what the designer described as an exploration of "systems of care and contentment." According to the brand's show notes, the Spring/Summer 2026 collection revolved around the concept of simple pleasures and the mundane, but, of course, presented through the maximalist lens of Williams.
Introducing us to provincial characters like the nurses, soldiers, X-ray technicians and toilet paper factory workers of the world, the collection featured nods to workwear, but not as you'd expect. Blending orthopaedic padding with rosette-clad safety glasses and floral toilet paper bangles, the collection took inspiration from mundane uniforms and then transformed them into slogan-emblazoned, jewelry-clad creations drenched in hues of pastel pink, yellow and everything in between.
Set to a soundtrack of sultry P!NK and Irish family band, The Corrs, the nostalgic tones perfectly accompanied this seeming depiction of modern-day girlhood. What felt like a reminder of our younger days, trying on mom's jewelry, being unapologetically ourselves and also being confused about it all at the same time, was presented as playful, innocent and somehow still plenty of fun.
