Everything to See, Do and Eat During Frieze Week 2025

info@hypebae.com (Hypebae)  Thu, 16 Oct 2025  Hypebae

The hottest week in every art-lover's calendar is finally here: Frieze. Taking over London from October 15 to 19, the main event unfolds beneath the famed tent in Regent's Park, but the action stretches far beyond it. We've mapped out everything to see, do and eat across the city, so grab your comfiest sneakers, a branded tote bag and prepare for the art world's most aesthetic chaos.

One of the biggest fixtures on the global art calendar, Frieze Masters hosts landmark rediscoveries and works spanning across centuries, while Frieze London spotlights contemporary practice with a curated selection of projects. The fair brings together the art world elite and the emerging talent, complete with parties, performances and a good share of celebrity sightings. It's much more than just the stuffy white tent.

Of course, with plenty of salacious gossip, capacious bags and free champagne, Frieze Week cannot escape its own clichés. To fill you in on this year's gossip before you start chatting to one of the well-dressed sales guys behind their booth, it involves the close clash with Art Basel in Paris. The schedule is causing some gallerists to skip London to head straight for the French capital. Still, the chief executive of Frieze, Simon Fox, has brushed off the idea of any rivalry, suggesting to The Guardian that the two could have a "Barbenheimer moment." We're with Fox on this one, so stay tuned for our Art Basel coverage.

Whether you're here for the art or the afterparties (no judgment), we've got your ultimate guide to Frieze Week 2025. From exclusive restaurant pop-ups to perfume installations to the exhibitions that you should be name-dropping, we've got you covered.

TO SEE

Bringing together 168 leading galleries from 43 countries, there'll be no shortage of art to see. To avoid getting overwhelmed, we've pulled out a few of our must-sees.

In the Tent

First off, the Gagosian gallery will present new works from Los Angeles native Lauren Halsey. The artist's Afrofuturist, Funk-inspired installations and sculptures explore themes of community, identity and civic engagement.

You'll also find pieces by internationally renowned artist Do Ho Suh, who has been a previous feature at Frieze and is always a public favorite. The artist's large-scale installations and replicas of everyday objects made from translucent polyester fabric over stainless steel frames cannot be missed.

If you were looking for a fashion designer's opinion, then Frieze has also got you covered. The fair's publication shared Harris Reed's personal picks, one of which includes a ceramic by Lindsey Mendick, presented by the Carl Freedman Gallery. While contemporary art, the ceramics feel reminiscent of traditional Venetian works, with cloudy greens and gold accents. Upon closer inspection, though, the artist creates a visual paradox, crafting subjects like severed feet or tentacles in glistening pastels. This tension between the beautiful and grotesque is one to look out for.

Outside the Tent

Beyond the tent, there are endless satellite shows staged across the city. On a detour from Regent's Park, we recommend visiting the Wolfgang Tillmans "Build From Here" exhibit. Spanning all three of Maureen Paley's East London spaces, including the new gallery at 4 Herald Street, the show will see recent photography by Tillmans using a camera, video recorder and photocopier. It explores everyday objects and tools as sculptural forms with a unique approach to texture and color.

After this, head to Soho to see Hannah Tilson's solo exhibition titled "Staged Surfaces" at Cedric Bardawil's gallery. Focusing on the duality of fabric, how it both conceals and reveals, folds and unfolds, she now presents an ambitious installation that sees kaleidoscopic tartan fabrics using clashing colors to create a charged environment.

TO DO

Alongside the artwork, the fair always offers activations and events that round out the weekend as an antidote to the Frieze fatigue. Expect a fashion-focused lens, a talks program with speakers including Tracey Emin and something for the night owls, complete with live DJ performances.

LOEWE Perfumes Partnership

This year, LOEWE Perfumes is partnering with Frieze to stage an immersive takeover in a Mayfair townhouse. The sensory celebration marks the launch of the new LOEWE Crafted Collection and will be an experiential, three-story journey through scent. From the raw ingredients and laboratory to the design and final campaign, visitors can enjoy the exhibition until October 19. For the scent lovers out there, make sure you catch this one.

Dover Street Market x Frieze

For the fashion-inclined, Dover Street Market is celebrating the art week with a series of activations and exclusive launches throughout the store. You can find a window installation by Rei Kawakubo featuring artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s work. Alongside this, exclusive product drops include a Rick Owens x Dr Martens collab and the Comme des Garçons x Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro sneakers. On Friday 17, you’ll be able to attend the Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17 Low Launch & Book Signing with Easy Otabor. A first-come, first-served basis, you need to be quick for this one.

dunhill x Frieze Masters Talks Program

The annual Frieze Masters Talks Program, produced in collaboration with dunhill, will explore how art across millennia inspires and challenges today's creative landscape. The series will include talks from renowned artists, including Christopher Rothko, Tracey Emin and Antony Gormley, alongside historians, researchers and the Director of the British Museum, Nicholas Cullinan (who recently announced a ball to rival that of the Met Gala).

Somerset House Studios AGM Frieze Week Party

Somerset House Studios is hosting its annual night of performance art and music set to take place in the secret underground labyrinth, the Deadhouse, on October 17. Sign up for access to the event and enjoy presentations by resident artists and guests, including DJ Manuka Honey, artist Gray Wielebinski, dancer Fernanda Munoz-Newsome, and musician Nkisi. There will also be a secret afterparty. Talk to the right people, and you may find it!

TO EAT

Every year, Frieze London and Frieze Masters transform the art fairs into full-sensory experiences, uniting world-class galleries with some of the city's most celebrated restaurants. This year, Frieze London welcomes culinary heavyweights, including Sessions Arts Club, Jikoni and Rita's, while Frieze Masters features standout offerings from Trullo and Nobu.

Sessions Arts Club

Sessions Arts Club, dubbed an "urban sanctuary," sits in a Grade II-listed former courthouse in Clerkenwell and takes candle-lit cozziness very seriously. Crumbling plaster, peeling paint and decadent arched windows turn faded glory into an intimate and elegant atmosphere. Featuring a curated and rotating selection of artwork on its exposed walls, this collaboration makes total sense. For another year, the restaurant will be bringing its menu to the big white tent with a 90-seat pop-up open daily to ticket holders of the fair. Make a reservation, you won't want to miss this one.

Trullo

For the first time, Trullo joins the line-up at Frieze Masters. A North London institution now celebrating its 15th year, the restaurant’s unpretentious menu spotlights seasonal dishes, fresh pasta and an impressive charcoal grill. The simple, Italian-inspired food somehow manages to feel incredibly luxurious with its high-quality ingredients and expertly crafted atmosphere. The Highbury location offers soft lighting, old-fashioned curtains, a (semi) open kitchen and no gimmicks. Add in the fairly priced yet excellent wine and charming (we mean attractive) staff, and you're in for a great evening.
