Throwback to Naomi Osaka’s Custom US Open Fits
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Tue, 19 Aug 2025 HypebaeAs four-time Grand Slam tennis champion Naomi Osaka prepares for the 2025 US Open, we have to take a look back at her best fashion moment.
Courtesy of AMBUSH x Nike, Osaka wore a custom lime green skirt set, inspired by the color of tennis balls. The star of the show, however, was the massive bow on the back of her jacket and her petticoat skirt that brought maximalism to the tennis court.
At the time, the designer behind the fit, Yoon Ahn, shared that Osaka wanted to include influences from the "Lolita Goth" community, an anime-inspired fashion subculture. "They go out and wear pink, frills, bows, lace... It's really about owning the cutesy-ness and the girly-hood."
Keeping it cute and girly, Osaka's white Nikes featured a lime green bow and check. Elsewhere, she accessorized her headphones with green bows and added bows to her hair as well.
Ahn also designed a second, all-black look for Osaka. The outfit continued the bow motif with a massive bow on her back, another dramatic skirt, accessorized with pearls on the tennis player's hair.
Speaking of Osaka, her return to the tennis court comes alongside a new documentary, Naomi Osaka: Second Set. The new doc explores her personal life and career as she navigates her new role as a mother.
In other news, "delulu" is officially in the English dictionary. Elsewhere, MSCHF may be opening a creative agency to help you go viral.
