Byredo's "Alto Astral" Eau de Parfum Is a Tribute to Brazil
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Thu, 14 Aug 2025 HypebaeByredo just released its newest perfume, "Alto Astral" in honor of Brazil's colorful cultural expression. Created by perfumer Jérome Epinette, the musky scent is described as "bright and addictive" by the brand. For the campaign, photographer and Rio native Rafael Maura leaned on intimate portraits of Brazilians in order to candidly capture the country's cultural identity.
The term "alto astral" comes from the Brazilian Portuguese phrase for an elevated state of mind — and the new eau de parfum is an attempt to capture that same feeling with scent. Drawing inspiration from Brazil's colorful energy and lush landscapes, "Alto Astral" is Byredo's way of unifying nature and culture.

Although coconut is a vital note — just like all of Byredo's cult-favorite perfumes, "Alto Astral" is much more complex than it seems on the surface. The scent first opens up with creamy coconut, before jasmine petals and musk add an extra layer of warmth. Finally, the base notes sandalwood, cashmere wood and salted amber come together to create a fresh yet well-rounded fragrance.
"Alto Astral" retails for $235 USD for 50ML and $330 for 100ML — it's now available for purchase on the brand's website.
