Jacquemus Travels to the Palace of Versailles for SS26
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Sun, 29 Jun 2025 HypebaeJacquemus returned to the runway at Paris Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2026 season and as expected, the show was held just a little outside of the city, at the Palace of Versailles. Teased on Instagram ahead of the showcase, the collection transported guests back to Simon Porte Jacquemus' childhood, where it all began.
Titled "Le Paysan," this season acted as a "love letter" to those who shaped Jacquemus' early years, tributing his family's heritage and looking at how far he's come. Held in the palace's "L'Orangerie," a place deeply connected to the earth and its agriculture, the collection channels some of Jacquemus' most intimate inspirations.

This season's womenswear offering featured the designer's signature explorations of form, silhouette and sculpture, creating voluminous shapes through crisp poplin and English tulle. Elsewhere, the collection featured inverted tulle aprons, billowing dresses and sheer sheaths. Several poplin garments were "delicately finished" like vintage tablecloths and linens, even debuting an embroidered "J" monogram.
Rendered in a classic color palette of white, beige and black, few hints of color appeared to inject a little playfulness, as did this season's accessories and footwear. Featuring platform, wedge and slingback espadrilles, the collection was accessorized by new woven raffia iterations of classic bags like Le Turismo. A new handheld bag dubbed Le Valerie, named after Jacquemus' mother, also made its debut this season.
Paying tribute to the designer's upbringing and journey so far, "Le Paysan" marks Jacquemus' most personal collection to date.
