Dearest Reader, 'Bridgerton' Is *So* Back
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Wed, 14 May 2025 HypebaeNetflix has officially renewed Bridgerton for a fourth and fifth season.
Remaining loyal to Lady Whistledown's paper, Netflix confirms the announcement of the show's return with a letter by the Lady herself. "Dearest Gentle Reader," she penned. "Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly."
Season 4's plot follows "The next season shall center on Benedict (Luke Thompson), the bohemian second son of the Bridgerton brood. Unwilling to settle down like his brothers, his perspective changes when he encounters a captivating Lady in Silver (played by Yerin Ha) at his mother's masquerade ball." The tweet confirms Season 4 is set to release in 2026. "It would seem this author is going to be quite busy," she closed.

The reveal follows a series trend led by Lady Whistledown. In 2021, the series' official Twitter account broke the news, posting a message from the 'ton's Queen of Gossip: "It seems we have a rather special announcement," the letter began. "Bridgerton shall return for seasons three and four. This author shall have to purchase more ink..."

At the time, the news was a shock as fan favorite, Regé-Jean Page, announced his exit from the Regency-era drama. Shonda Rhimes, the show's creator, addressed the outrage surrounding Page's departure in an interview with Vanity Fair, saying she was "really shocked" by fan response. Rhimes also confirmed that Page was invited to return for season two cameos, clarifying that his character, the Duke of Hastings, still exists in the wider Bridgerton universe. "We didn't kill him, he's still alive!" she joked.
