Up until the second trailer release for their upcoming film, Anyone But You, fans had no clue what to expect. The only thing they were sure of: the undeniable chemistry between the film leads, Sweeney and Powell. The only issue, however, was that Powell and his girlfriend of three years, Gigi Paris, split around the same time, with her entering an "I'm single" run on Instagram. "Never better," she posted as a caption to the most villain-esque era video. Immediately, this sparked rumors of Hollywood's fav trope: the forbidden onscreen romance to an offscreen affair. The moment went viral and became coined the "Rom-Com Renaissance."
