Venetian Nights Inspire David Koma's Newest Blumarine Collection

Venetian nights offer David Koma his inspiration for Blumarine this season, characterized by sultry red lace, signature masks and plenty of decadence. Evolving his "study of dark romanticism," the new Pre-Fall 2026 collection takes inspiration from the brand's previous collaborations with Helmut Newton, along with its FW92 campaign, lensed by Albert Watson in Venice.

Koma returns to the "City of Masks" as his newest muse, tapping into the debaucherous motifs associated with the Baroque Venice era. As a result, the collection features sensual tones of red, lavender and pale blue, showcased on georgette mini dresses, bustiers and slips, crafted from flowing Chantilly lace, structured creopon and fluid Taffeta.

Showcasing the Blumarine woman as completely absorbed and entranced by Venice, the accompanying campaign displays an "eccentric" and "extravagant" spirit that wouldn't be out of place in a modern-day A24 film. Cinematic, vibrant and desirable all at once.

Continuing the collection are "erotically-draped" jersey dresses, hooded gowns, leopard prints, and sculpted wool tailoring, along with voluminous poplin shirts, capes, pea coats and knitted cardigans. Completing the offering is a selection of super-high stiletto heels, metal jewelry and animal ornaments, paired with butterfly-shaped masks and mask-like sunglasses, all adding to the rising Venetian theme.

In other fashion news, Balenciaga just dropped a Manolo Blahnik collaboration.
