Jane Wade Explores Labor as Currency for SS26
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Tue, 16 Sep 2025 HypebaeJane Wade transported guests to a large warehouse in Brooklyn for her Spring/Summer 2026 showcase, exploring the concept of "labor as currency." Dubbed "The Fulfilment," the new collection shifts our focus from the office to the warehouse, looking at how our bodies are monitored and our time sold.
An exploration of workwear is nothing new for Wade, but this collection seemingly takes things one step further, interrogating what goes on underneath and the inner workings of our laborious minds. Displayed through functional fashion and multiple tech collaborations, the collection saw buttons stripped down to reveal bralettes and intimates, accessorized by headphones, clipboards, pens and briefcases.
Looking at "exhaustion as a uniform," the collection looks to expose the negatives of "expendability under commerce," and the ways that increasing machine efficiency can erase human presence and hard work.
The first of this season's collaboration came courtesy of Abbot's Lingo, a bio-sensor and app which offers personalized coaching insights that "help people understand how nutrition, movement and even stress can impact their overall health and wellness," according to the brand's press release. Marking the first consumer biowearable to be styled on the runway at New York Fashion Week, the partnership blends wellness, technology and fashion. The second team-up features emerging tech brand Nothing, with models wearing the latest headphones and earphones.
