Nike and Spotify Are Using the Power of Music To Get Girls Moving
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Wed, 10 Sep 2025 HypebaeNike and Spotify are expanding their partnership with "Make Moves," a collaboration using the power of music to inspire girls to move to one song every day.
The campaign wants to help girls find their sense of enjoyment and belonging within sport, channeling confidence and self-expression. Promoted with the Nike x Spotify "Make Moves" playlist, the soundtrack showcases both brands' dedication to the future of sport and the mental well-being of the next generation, acknowledging how hard it can be for young girls.
The energetic playlist is curated by athletes and teens around the world, with the collaborators encouraging girls to make a daily ritual that they can stick to, involving both movement and music. According to a 2024 World Health Organization survey, 85% of teenage girls don't meet the recommended guidelines for physical activity. This particular group also tends to experience lower confidence levels within sport and fear of judgment. As a result, the campaign will add to the proven positive impact that music has on mental well-being.
The video features a number of Nike athletes, and among them Dina Asher-Smith shares, "You learn to see your body in a new light — valuing and being proud of it for the incredible things it can do, not just what it looks like." Also featured is Lotte Wubben-Moy, adding, "I honestly feel like life could throw anything at me and I'd deal with it as long as I have my earphones with me." It's safe to say that the power of music cannot be argued with.
You can listen to the "Make Moves" playlist on Spotify and get ready to feel the inspiration.
