Tiwani Contemporary presents a solo exhibition by Zimbabwe-born artist Virginia Chihota.

The exhibition is titled, "Munoonei kana makaditarisa nhai Mwari?" which translates to, "What do you see when you look at me ohh God?" Each piece aims to answer the question of "What do you see when you look at me?"

This unexpected, yet all-consuming question is the foundation of the show and opens a portal for Chihota to explore her inner world. According to the show notes, Chihota "visualises her inner world as an emotionally shifting, symbolic terrain—a reconnaissance marked by vigilance, self-questioning, and transformative resolution.

On display from June 5 to September 20, 2025, the viewer will notice a recurring motif of a seat. In some pieces, this takes the form of a stool. Each of these represents her body "in direct observation and conversation with the Divine. A series of gesturally restless, and physiologically awkward standing or seated positions figure clearly in Chihota's visual rumination, acknowledging the reality of what's experienced as opposed to the reality of what might be seen by others."

Visit the exhibit until September 20, 2025.
