Matières Fécales SS26 Celebrates Beauty In Every Form

If all eyes were on Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran's debut Matières Fécales show for Fall/Winter 2025, all hearts were on it for Spring/Summer 2026.

At Paris Fashion Week, the Montréal-based duo staged a declaration of love, defiance and ownership. Attedned by FKA twigs, Ashniko and Michèle Lamy, their sophomore collection unfolded like a personal mythology: Bhaskaran once drew Dalton long before they even met, an imagined muse who later became both partner in life and co-conspirator. This show was her: for her, through her, because of her.

The collection opened in Dalton in a pink duchess satin tailoring, cut with the precision of armour but curved to protect softness rather than conceal it. Déchiré tweed threaded with tulle ripped apart Place Vendôme's sacred codes, while frayed American blue denim stamped with their cross seam symbol waved like a flag of outsider sovereignty. Transparent silk organza revealed the skeletal architecture of clothing, exposing the craft usually hidden beneath polish. And in these looks, models wore masks as a continuation of the concept of concealment.

Pierre Molinier's unapologetic sensuality flickered across jerseys in the "UNCENSORED" series. Stephen Jones sculpted headpieces like crowns for the ungovernable. And as for footwear? The duo continued their partnership with Christian Louboutin, recreating skyhigh heels into surrealist weapons arriving in multiple, red-bottom colorways.

Matières Fécales are not asking fashion to change. They're changing it by loving loudly, and doing so with their community front and center.
