Ari Lennox's “Soft Girl Era” Is Pretty In Pink
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Tue, 22 Apr 2025 HypebaeGRAMMY-nominated singer Ari Lennox releases music video for her well-loved single, "Soft Girl Era."
Already the most added song on urban radio lists, Lennox quickly followed up with a pretty in pink music video. "Okay, Courtney," a fan commented hilariously, referencing the artist's real name. "The choreo, the bonnet, and the SPLIT," another chimed in.
Directed by Chris Robinson, the new video follows Lennox and her besties as they declare their soft girl needs. The best part? The soulful, video-vixen-esque choreography as she sings, "Hurry up and put me in my soft girl era / In first class, I ain't goin' nowhere / Nails, hair, rent paid, take me somewhere / Ain't tryna do nothing but look pretty in here."
The new single, "released last month on Ari’s birthday," the press release stated, "reunites the singer with GRAMMY-winning hitmakers Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, who teamed up for her first Billboard radio No. 1, 'Pressure.' The trio’s magic touch is already on display with "Soft Girl Era" becoming the most-added song on Urban radio this week."

The singer recently left rapper J. Cole's Dreamville label and was spotted with singer-slash-artist Solange shortly after. The moment sparked rumors that the Houston artist would take Lennox under her wing. However, neither has confirmed leaving the rumor as just that, a rumor.
