Jenna Ortega returns to Tim Burton and Netflix's hit show, Wednesday. According to Netflix, Season 2 of the thriller features two release dates -- part one releasing on August 6 and part two releasing on September 3. Alongside the announcement, the streaming giant releases the Season 2 trailer.

After a successful first season, Ortega revealed that one aspect of the series made "no sense" to her: her character's love life -- and fans agreed. Luckily for those fans, Ortega has already begun pitching for the next season. "We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more," she told Fanning. "Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously."

Well, the Season 2 trailer confirms that the new season will be more horror -- less romance. "We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great," she said. Although the series was produced by Tim Burton, Ortega was given more creative freedom than most actors on set. "I’m just so curious. I want to see the outfits, new characters that are coming in, scripts and they were gracious enough to let me put the producer hat on."

Wednesday co-creator Miles Millar also revealed more of our favorite character's lore. "We really wanted to find some new obstacles for Wednesday," he said. "She thinks she has it all under control, and discovers that human interaction isn't as easy as she thought."

Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega), returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery. Creator/showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar return for the spine-tingling second season of Wednesday, alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton.
