adidas announces the June 24 opening of "Honoring Black Excellence (HBE): An Experience" curated by Rog and Bee Walker.

First launched in 2019, HBE is adidas' platform for "celebrating Black leaders shaping culture and driving change." According to the press release, the new HBE activation is a "bold and immersive celebration of Black culture, legacy, and creative expression." For those unfamiliar with Rog and Bee, they're the couple and duo behind the storytelling podcast, Paper Monday.

As part of the new activation, HBE makes its way to Atlanta to continue its mission. Bringing the activation to life, adidas and the HBE team have chosen key artists within the worlds of "film, photography, archival artifacts, live performances and interactive workshops," to celebrate as the 2025 Honorees.

This year, the Walker duo worked closely with the 2025 Honorees to develop short films that honor each creative's story, Black excellence, and as adidas shared, "elevate their enduring impact on Black culture."

The Walkers added, "With this experience, we wanted to create something that doesn't just honor Black excellence — it embodies it. These stories aren't told through a distant lens; they're lived, felt and remembered. From the quilted legacies of Gee's Bend to the visionary futures Sekou Thornell and Jaycina Almond are building in Atlanta, this exhibition is about tracing the lines between past, present and possibility. We hope it invites people to witness, reflect and ultimately feel connected to something greater than themselves."
