Louis Vuitton Unveils New Vanilla Fragrance

Louis Vuitton has just unveiled the newest addition to its Les Extraits collection of perfumes, "Fantasmagory." Similarly to the other scents in the collection, "Fantasmagory" is inspired by a single perfume note. Harping on the duality of vanilla, the scent is inspired by the classic note's signature sunny essence and aromatic purity.
Created by perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, "Fantasmagory" is merging raw ingredients with the fashion house's affinity for high art. As a result, the perfume is attempting to break tradition and redefine vanilla. In addition to tahitensis vanilla from Papua New Guinea, the fragrance also has notes of spicy anise, gentle florals and seductive leather — for a truly complex scent profile.

As for the bottle, designer Frank Gehry conceptualized a vessel that's just as airy and radiant as the scent itself. Drawing inspiration from the original bottles designed by Marc Newson, the remodeled version is a modern retelling of the brand's heritage, with fluttering silver petals as the cap.
