Matthieu Blazy's Chanel Debut Was Out of This World
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Tue, 07 Oct 2025 HypebaeIt finally happened. The moment that all of fashion has been waiting for: Matthieu Blazy's debut for Chanel. Presented at the Grand Palais, the showcase immediately felt otherworldly, and that's only partly because it was backdropped by several glowing planets.
Attended by a star-studded guest list of supporters, including BLACKPINK's Jennie, Margot Robbie, Lily-Rose Depp, Kendall Jenner and newly-appointed house ambassadors, Ayo Edebiri and Nicole Kidman, the highly-anticipated show closed out the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week, and the Spring/Summer 2026 season.

Across over 70 looks, Blazy's debut was heritage-inspired, texture-focused and above all else: incredibly joyful. Seemingly focused on the way that clothes actually move when you wear them, the result was a masterclass in tactility and fabric manipulation.
Following the debut, Blazy's show notes read: "Chanel is about love. The birth of Modernity in fashion comes from a love story. This is what I find most beautiful. It has no time or space; this is an idea of freedom. The freedom worn and won by Gabrielle Chanel."
Reimagining house signatures like tailoring and tweed for a new audience, the classics were interspersed by playful gowns, vibrant colors and a worn-in feel. Clothes designed to be worn and loved.
