Stone Island Captures Colombia's Stunt-Driving Motorcycle Scene
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Mon, 11 Aug 2025 HypebaeFor its latest editorial, Stone Island travelled to Medellín, Colombia, to explore the culture of Los Pikes, a community of stunt riders who embody risk, speed and freedom.
For weeks, creative director and photographer Isaac Lamb and Stone Island archivist Arco Maher immersed themselves in the unique group to capture the energy of six "pilotos," aka stunt drivers. They include Dani Castañeda, who is leading the charge for female riders, Paskin, a figure shaping stunt culture for over 20 years, rising star Pinina, technical master Reptile, punk skater Gonogold and Leon, a cultural fixture in Colombian media.
In a statement, Gonogold shared, "We're going through life fast because of a motorcycle. We grow up with the culture of motos. We all have motorcycles. We all go fast." Immersed in the streets and homes, the team saw stunt shows go beyond just the spectacle, but become an escape for drivers and an expression of identity. Representing more than a sport, Los Pikes captures the resilience and community of moto culture in the heart of the Colombian city.
The campaign also features Stone Island's FW25-26 collection worn by the riders alongside selected archive pieces from the Arco Maher archive. Standouts include the SS '006 Electric Blue Nylon Metal Shimmer Stitched Jacket and FW '008-'009 Raso Gommato Hand Painted Camouflage Field Jacket. Women's silhouettes are featured too, with Serie 100's SS '003 khaki Cropped Bomber and the mesh blouses from SS '002 and SS '003. Fan-favorite accessories also appear, including the Metal Flying Goggles and army green Ski Goggles. With the brand's technical expertise and four decades of building communities, Stone Island's celebration of Los Pikes is a perfect take on living fast and free.
