As someone who has shopped this sale (and many, many others) for over a decade, I've made every discount-related mistake in the book. From said mistakes, though, I've also learned the right way to approach them. And the lesson I follow most is to go into sales with the following season in mind rather than the current one. That way, when you buy something, you have months to break it in instead of mere weeks.

Though many were too distracted by the underwear-with-tights combos that lined the runway at Miu Miu's fall/winter 2023 show to notice them, classic knitwear was just as prevalent in the collection than anything else. In the fall, no outerwear item of mine gets more use than my trusty trench coat, which is why I wasn't at all surprised to see them on the runways for autumn, with the best of them all arriving at The Row's show in Paris.
At Miu Miu and Ferragamo, hooded sweatshirts made a surprise splash, making us all forget that the sporty basic was ever considered boring or ok to be passed over. With the right styling, even the simplest hoodies can be made chic.
Lace is one of those trends that always walks the delicate line between elegant and tacky, but the fall/winter 2023 collections proved that skipping them because of the risk of going over said line simply isn't an option. It just means you have to be picky about the lace pieces you invest in. Luckily, Nordstrom has plenty of buy-worthy items to choose from.
