London’s Fiercest Runners Take on the Nike After Dark Tour Experience

Having hosted events in Sydney, Shanghai, Mexico City and beyond, the Nike After Dark Tour made its final stop at London’s ExCel arena last week, with 5,000 runners, a plethora of elite athletes and leading creative partners in attendance.
A celebration of London’s running culture and, more importantly, the fierce women within it, the immersive racing experience invited avid runners and likeminded communities, including The Outrunners, to push past their limits and reclaim the night. Keeping the energy high, presenter AJ Odudu and Olympic athlete Imani Lara Lansiquot were enlisted as the hosts for the London event, coming together to bring a bold and fearless attitude to the tracks.
To kickstart the day, runners raced in a 1k qualifier determining which of three 10k races they would compete in after dark. Once complete, they then had the chance to check out several pop-ups to get them race ready. Make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench was on location with her limited-edition After Dark Tour Nike lipstick, skincare brand SIFALI held a rejuvenating facial station, and independent labels Alta Store, Mug Queen, and Climax Books gave the crowds a retail-focused respite from the race with their pop-up stores.
Meanwhile, world-renowned athletes Dina Asher-Smith, Faith Kipyegon, Keely Hodgkinson, Sifan Hassan and Georgia Bell took the stage in a series of panel talks, discussing their training routines and overcoming challenges in the sport. With runners feeling inspired, they hit the course for the respective 10k races, ready to hit their personal bests under the red lights of the arena.
After the groups reached the finish line, Nike awarded all the runners with a reimagined race medal while the winners of each 10k wave received a special prize including the Goddess of Victory Trophy and an opportunity to train like an elite athlete. Keeping the adrenaline pumping, PinkPantheress performed in a special gig, singing her best and baddest tracks in celebration of the jam-packed day.
