YanYan Knits embraces the notion that its chunky, colorful knitwear is truly for everyone. It's even in the name — "YanYan" means "everyone" in Cantonese. The label's collections are often optimistic explosions of color, defined by floral accents, tiny animated characters from the founder duo's childhood and exuberant prints. But Phyllis Chan and Susie Chung's Fall/Winter 2025 range explores a new side of YanYan. The collection's color palette is intentionally muted — featuring darker, moodier shades of black, brown, army green, blue and mustard yellow, with pops of lilac, sage and red. When Chan and Chung design and style their looks, they play pretend with the characters in their universe, allowing the garments to bring each bold persona to life. This time around, the duo wanted to explore what the more mature YanYan girl looks like — introducing "Daisy."
Daisy is you! Daisy is your mom! Or your sister! Daisy is all of the powerful people in our lives that command the room and don't take no for an answer. The YanYan girl of past collections may have been a bit more happy go lucky — and Daisy is too, but Daisy is also an amalgamation of all of the things that make us human.
The collection includes pleated skirts paired with cropped jackets or knits, work jacket and pant sets, layering pieces like wrap skirts and technicolor leg-warmers — all displaying evolved versions of past silhouettes from the brand, adorned with classic YanYan motifs: bright striped prints, delicate ribbons and of course, daisies. The check pattern is another recurring YanYan element, seen paired with other rich textures throughout the range.
For the "Daisy" campaign, the knitwear label tapped creatives who share its eclectic, bold outlook. They use their fashion choices as a window into their inner selves and wear their hearts, and their personalities, on their sleeves. For each series, "Daisy" will style and direct a digital lookbook through the lens of a disposable camera.
"The Daisy project was our idea to celebrate the creative people we encounter as a brand. To us, our 'Daisies' dress for themselves — they love self expression, experimentation, discovery, evolution. What we love about our Daisies is they are able to tell the stories of our pieces while they share the stories of who they are," said co-founder Phyllis Chan. "However you style or wear [the collection], we hope it brings you joy."
The collection is now available on the brand's website.
